How to remove yourself from SageStream

Site
sagestreamllc.com
Category
risk
Difficulty
Medium — one LexisNexis web form covers report, freeze and dispute, but it requires SSN or driver's licence and results arrive by post: "you will receive a letter via U.S. Mail with additional information explaining how to access your report online"
Time to processnot published

What they publish

A private supplementary credit file, not a public profile. The CFPB listing says it "Collects information from, and provides supplementary consumer reports to, auto lenders, credit card issuers, retailers, utilities and mobile phone service providers". The LexisNexis request form says data is used "only to confirm your identity and complete your request"

Owner / network: SageStream, LLC — "LexisNexis Risk Solutions owns SageStream" (CFPB listing). Consumer requests are handled by the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center on consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com; sagestreamllc.com itself returned a CloudFront country block and could not be read. SageStream was an ID Analytics business and LexisNexis announced the ID Analytics purchase on 2020-01-13

Removing yourself, step by step

0 of 4 done
  1. Request the free consumer disclosure report at https://consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/request, or call 1-866-897-8126 (the number the CFPB lists for SageStream), or mail the Printable Request Form to LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, P.O. Box 105108, Atlanta, GA 30348-5108
  2. Dispute an inaccurate item through the same portal or by mail; a "Description of Process Letter" with dispute status can be requested and is sent by U.S. Mail
  3. Place a free security freeze at https://consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/freeze, by phone at 1-800-456-1244, or by mail to LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, Attn: Security Freeze, P.O. Box 105108, Atlanta, GA 30348-5108; keep the PIN for lifts
  4. Opt out of FCRA prescreen lists at https://consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/opt (online, phone or mail)

How they confirm it

"you'll need to provide proper identification, including your name, address, date of birth, and other details. For some requests, like getting your consumer disclosure report, we may also ask for your Social Security number or your driver's license number and state" — the form marks "At least one is required (either SSN or Driver's License and State)"

If they ignore you

CFPB complaint (consumerfinance.gov/complaint); FCRA §611 dispute rights (reinvestigation within 30 days, statute; annual disclosure within 15 days per the CFPB listing); Georgia Attorney General (consumer centre in Atlanta, GA); California Attorney General for the San Diego-era SageStream entity

Data brokers re-list. Check again in about 60 days.

Re-listing risk for this site: High — lenders and service providers keep furnishing account data, and the freeze page notes a freeze "does not apply to companies... with which you have an existing account"
