Using OptStub

Everything on this site is free and nothing bills. These terms are short because the service is small.

What we provide

Removal guides for the sites in our registry, a kit that writes opt-out letters in your browser, and an optional free account that remembers which sites you have filed with. We publish the guides as accurately as we can and date what we have checked.

What you do

You send your own removal requests. We do not send them for you and are not your agent. Use the kit for your own personal information — not to look up or file about anyone else. That is the one thing that will get an account closed.

What we don't promise

Removal is not guaranteed. Some brokers ignore requests, some refuse on legal grounds, and most re-list within 30–90 days. Our guides can be out of date: brokers change their forms without notice. If what you find does not match the guide, the site is right and we are wrong — tell us and we will fix it.

The service is provided as-is, without warranty, and we are not liable for what a broker does or fails to do. Nothing here is legal advice.

Your account

Free, and you can delete it whenever you like — the checklist is deleted with it. We may close an account used to file about other people, or to attack the service. If we ever stop running OptStub we will say so here and give you time to export.

There is no paid tier yet

You may see references to a future paid service where we file and re-check for you. It does not exist, has no price you can pay, and cannot take your money. When it launches it will have its own terms, reviewed by a lawyer, and you will have to agree to them separately — signing up today commits you to nothing.

Contact and changes

help@optstub.com. If these terms change materially we will date the change here; previous versions are in our public git history. Governed by the law of the founder's jurisdiction; if a clause is unenforceable the rest still applies.

See also the privacy policy — it is shorter than this one.
