How to remove yourself from Innovis

Site
innovis.com
Category
risk
Difficulty
Medium — the freeze and report forms are self-service once reachable, but the site is geo-gated and the permanent prescreen opt-out reportedly needs a signed mailed form
Time to processnot published ; the CFPB entry states the FCRA rule that annual disclosures "must do so within fifteen days of receiving your request." Dispute reinvestigation is 30 days under FCRA §611, cited as statutory, not as an Innovis figure

What they publish

Per the CFPB entry, "Provides credit and identity verification data", listed under "Category: Supplementary reports" — "companies listed in this section sell data primarily to help entities manage credit and fraud risk." Innovis's own nav (the only text its site served) lists the consumer services as "Credit Report, Dispute Resolution, Fraud & Active Duty Alerts, Block, Victims of Human Trafficking, Security Freeze, Opt-Out / Opt-In". This is a consumer report: there is no opt-out from the file itself. The rights are a free annual disclosure, a security freeze, dispute, and a prescreen opt-out

Owner / network: "Innovis is a subsidiary of CBC Companies. Inc." (CFPB company entry, page last modified Jan. 30, 2025). innovis.com itself served only its "Unable to complete request" page today, so this is quoted from the regulator's list

Removing yourself, step by step

0 of 4 done
  1. Request the free annual Innovis credit report at https://www.innovis.com/personal/creditReport (the URL the CFPB entry links; verify — content not served today), or by phone 800-540-2505 (on Innovis's own served page and the CFPB entry), or by mail to Innovis Consumer Assistance, P.O. Box 530088, Atlanta, GA 30353-0088 (same two sources).
  2. Place a security freeze at https://www.innovis.com/personal/securityFreeze or by phone 866-712-0021 (CFPB entry: "Request security freeze 800-540-2505 or 866-712-0021"). Keep the passcode/confirmation.
  3. Opt out of prescreened offers at https://www.innovis.com/personal/optOutOptIn ; the prior guide routed this through optoutprescreen.com, which was not reachable from here today .
  4. Dispute any inaccurate item; the CFPB entry states "Under the FCRA, companies must conduct – free of charge – a reasonable investigation of your dispute." Removal of accurate items is not available.

How they confirm it

not fetchable today — the only Innovis text served was the error page, whose footer links "Passcode Terms & Conditions", consistent with a passcode-protected freeze. The prior guide recorded name, address, DOB and SSN for freeze/opt-out

If they ignore you

CFPB complaint (consumerfinance.gov/complaint); state AG; FCRA §611 dispute rights; private right of action under FCRA §§616–617

Data brokers re-list. Check again in about 60 days.

Re-listing risk for this site: High — a CRA keeps receiving data from furnishers; a freeze restricts access to the file, it does not stop reporting into it, and the prescreen opt-out expires unless made permanent
