mobile advertising IDs (MAIDs) linked to app activity, precise location histories, audience segments sold via the Kochava Collective marketplace; private DB keyed to device IDs, not public profiles

Owner / network: Kochava Inc., Sandpoint ID, independent. Regulatory status: FTC sued 2022 over sensitive location-data sales; litigation produced court-ordered restrictions on selling sensitive location data

Removing yourself, step by step

  1. 01

On each device, retrieve the advertising ID (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: use an IDFA-reader app or rely on ATT denial).

  2. 02

Submit each MAID at https://www.kochava.com/opt-out-do-not-sell-request-process/, certifying device ownership.

  3. 03

Email privacy@kochava.com requesting deletion + do-not-sell across Kochava and the Kochava Collective for those MAIDs (and any hashed emails).

  4. 04

Device-level hardening: iOS — deny App Tracking Transparency prompts; Android — "Delete advertising ID".

Data brokers re-list. Check again in 30–60 days.

Re-listing risk for this site: High — MAID-keyed: resetting your advertising ID or getting a new device creates a fresh identifier not covered by prior opt-out. Counter-intuitively, opt-out THEN avoid resetting the MAID (a reset orphans the suppression).
