How to remove yourself from ancestry.co.uk
Genealogy records, family trees, historical record matches, and (for members/DNA customers) DNA test results tied to the account.
Owner / network: Ancestry.com LLC — same company operates all regional Ancestry TLDs (ancestry.com, .co.uk, .com.au, .it, ancestryireland.com) under one shared privacy program.
Removing yourself, step by step
- 01
Visit https://www.ancestry.com/legal/ccpa-donotshare-sell to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising (applies across regional sites via the shared account/legal framework).
- 02
To delete your own family tree, DNA results, or full account: log in, go to Account Settings (https://www.ancestry.com/account), and follow the deletion flow.
- 03
If you have an AncestryDNA kit, note that account deletion also triggers destruction of the physical saliva sample; to request sample destruction specifically, contact Member Services (https://www.ancestry.com/support/s/contactsupport).
- 04
For records Ancestry has indexed about you from public/historical sources (not your own submissions), contact Member Services directly — this is not self-service.
Data brokers re-list. Check again in 30–60 days.
Re-listing risk for this site: Low for an intentionally deleted account; historical record database entries not tied to your own submitted tree (e.g., public records Ancestry has indexed about you) may persist and require the general public-records removal steps.
